OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Monday morning is a First Alert 6 Weather Day as snow showers move through the area, giving us travel impacts during the morning commute.

The peak window for steady snow showers in the metro will be between 7 and 9 AM, right when a lot of people will be returning to the roads after the holiday.

Be ready for the potential for slick roads; despite amounts being light (less than an inch in the metro), the timing is the issue with this morning’s round of snow.

Those closer to the Kansas border could see 1-3″ fall by the time it wraps up in the early afternoon.

Temps will peak today in the low 20s; thankfully winds will be light throughout the day.

Overnight, with partial clearing taking place, temps will slide back into the single digits.
