An "atmospheric" speakeasy-style bar has opened up in a five-star North East hotel. Seaham Hall has opened Harvey’s Bar, a brand-new 1920's themed bar at the popular County Durham hotel.

The bar is described as "a modern speakeasy with a coastal twist", offering a stylish space for hotel residents, Serenity Spa guests and visitors. A selection of hand-crafted cocktails are on offer, as well as premium light bites and large plates.

The bar pays homage to defining moments in its heritage, including Lord Byron’s nuptials in 1815, and Alex Harvey’s transformation of Seaham Hall’s cellars into a secret whiskey route during the Prohibition era. Open seven days a week,
