Stranger Things actor Cara Buono is jumping to the defence of co-star Millie Bobby Brown in light of the abuse the British performer has received online and in the media .

Cara is known to fans of the Netflix series as Mike Wheeler’s mum Karen in Stranger Things, appearing in all five seasons of the award-winning show.

During a recent interview with the Daily Mail , the Emmy nominee spoke about the scrutiny that Millie has faced since rising to global fame as Eleven in Stranger Things.

“Millie was a child and no one should ever be treated like that,” Cara said. “It’s outrageous and disgusting that people don’t have anything better to do.

“I’m protective of Millie,” the former Mad Men star added, noting that this extends to all of the show’s younger cast.
