Stockton’s new Wetherspoon pub will opens its doors in days after a £1m revamp.
The national pub chain has taken over the former Brewers Fayre at Preston Farm Industrial Estate and works are well underway to transform it into The Red Anchor.
The pub - which is named after the area's shipbuilding history - has created 60 new jobs and follows a new deal between the operator and Yorkshire-based The Papas Group.
The Red Anchor will open on Wednesday, December 10, and will be managed by Stephanie Sweet, who said: “Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into The Red Anchor and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the local social scene.”
Wetherspoon has confirmed the pub will be open from 8am, closing at 11.30pm Sunday to Thursday, or midnight on
