The Department for Work and Pensions will be handing state pensioners payments of AT LEAST £704 ahead of Christmas . The Basic AND New State Pensions will both be issued early this month, by the DWP .

The full basic State Pension is £176.45 per week - meaning state pensioners can get £704. The New State Pension is worth £921.

Anyone due a payment on Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) should instead receive it on Wednesday 24 December (Christmas Eve). Likewise, anyone due a payment on Friday 26 December (Boxing Day) should also receive it on Christmas Eve.
