Preserve Chattanooga is asking the community to step up to stop a rezoning request that would destroy a historic property.
They posted a call to action on Facebook, saying a Nashville developer wants to rezone 19 Patten Parkway.
The historic block in downtown Chattanooga has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1980.
The rezoning request would allow a new 12-story mixed-use structure. But the current zoning has a maximum six-story height restriction.
The nonprofit says those interested can attend a Regional Planning Commission meeting on December 8 at 1:00pm to express any concerns.
