Lando Norris could have become the 2025 Formula 1 champion in Qatar, but he didn't have enough speed or the right strategy. Instead of leaving with the trophy, Norris heads into the 2025 season finale with a 12-point lead over Max Verstappen and a 16-point lead over Oscar Piastri. So, how can the driver of the No. 4 car clinch the title in Abu Dhabi?

Norris will clinch the 2025 Formula 1 championship in Qatar if he finishes on the podium, no matter what happens with Verstappen and Piastri. If Verstappen wins, Norris would need a third-place finish. If Piastri wins, Norris would need a fifth-place finish. Needless to say, Norris is still the title favorite.

However, the issues with not clinching the championship in Qatar and bleeding points after the summer break are firmly in the picture. One issue for Norris in Abu Dhabi could end his championship hopes, and a DNF or disqualification would likely put it to rest. Norris just needs a podium in Abu Dhabi, and the hope is that McLaren has a smooth race.
