Five London councils have called on the Mayor of London to get rid of gambling and casino adverts across the Underground network.
Barnet , Enfield , Brent, Hackney and Lewisham have joined the Coalition to End Gambling Ads (CEGA), which campaigns to stop the spread of harmful gambling promotions.
Earlier this year, London Mayor Sadiq Khan was accused of “backtracking” on his 2021 re-election pledge to direct Transport for London (TfL) to ban the adverts.
Four years later, no such ban has been implemented, with Khan stating that he will wait for the Government to provide a national framework for addressing the issue.
