CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Beloved Browns legend Bernie Kosar is back in the hospital less than one week after he was released following a lifesaving liver transplant on Nov. 17.
Kosar shared he was admitted into University Hospitals again on Nov. 30 in a post that said, “Back in the hospital right now. Keeping the vibes positive as always for gameday tho.”
He received the liver from Bryce Dunlap, 21, of North Olmsted. Dunlap passed away unexpectedly due to complications from an anoxic brain injury.
Kosar publicly thanked Dunlap’s family on his Facebook page and called the transplant “great gift.”
In summer 2024, the legendary quarterback was diagnosed with liver failure and Parkinson’s disease.
