The Kansas City Chiefs are going far off track on their road to redemption.

Kansas City has been the class of the AFC for years following the arrival of superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In Mahomes' first seven seasons as the Chiefs' full-time starter, the team won three Super Bowls , won five AFC crowns and reached seven straight AFC Championship Games.

Mahomes and Co. were on the verge of becoming the first team in NFL history to three-peat as Super Bowl champions last season. They reached the Super Bowl yet again, setting up a rematch from two years prior against the Philadelphia Eagles . The Chiefs won the first matchup in Super Bowl LVII, but the Eagles exacted revenge with a 40-22 beatdown in New Orleans to capture Super Bowl LIX .
