MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is investigating a weekend shooting that left one man seriously injured.

MCSO said deputies were in the area of a large block party on SW Lee Avenue when they heard two gunshots.

When deputies arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

According to the sheriff’s office, there was a large crowd at the scene, but no one reported seeing the shooting.

MCSO said investigators found a handgun underneath a vehicle and a shell casing near the victim. A second, unfired bullet was found further down the street.

The victim was flown to a hospital for treatment and remains in serious condition, MCSO said.
