GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - A flight instructor and a student who were on board a small plane that departed Million Air in Gulfport and crashed into Lake Pontchartrain on Monday, November 24, have now been identified.

Michael Carastro, the owner of Apollo Flight Training and Aircraft Management , identified 30-year-old Taylor Dickey as the instructor.

The U.S. Navy identified Lieutenant David Michael Jahn as the student on board.

Both are presumed dead after the crash, though their bodies have not been recovered.

The U.S. Navy says Lt. Jahn was stationed in Gulfport at the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB).

“Our sympathies and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and shipmates,” a spokesperson for the U.S. Navy said in a press release Monday morning.
