Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin boasted last week that the “Democratic Party is back” following the party’s sweeping victories in last month’s elections, and conservative commentator Joe Concha, when pressed Monday on Fox Business to respond, winced before conceding to the claim.

Democrats had a strong showing last month after winning two contested gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, expanding their House majority in the Virginia legislature, winning races in Virginia for lieutenant governor and attorney general, and fending off independent mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo with Zohran Mamdani's victory in New York City.

Appearing with Fox Business’ Stuart Varney Monday, Concha was asked to respond to Martin’s comments, to which Concha’s immediate reaction was to disparage the head of the DNC.

“Martin is the same guy who hired that human broomstick David Hogg to be his number two with the DNC,” Concha said, while calling the Democratic Party a “party that lacks testosterone.”

Addressing Martin’s claims directly, however, Concha was forced to admit that the DNC head had a point.

“But then again, Democrats are on a roll lately winning in New Jersey, Virginia and New York City,” Concha admitted.

“I get those are blue areas, but at the same time, it appears that – at least the way things are going right now – that this is the party that has momentum, and Republicans seem to be a rudderless ship at this point.”

Martin’s comments were made to Politico last Thursday, where he strongly suggested that Democrats would cruise to victory in the impending midterm elections that, as of December, are less than a year out.

“We won across the board with every major constituency that left our party last year, and that should tell you something again,” Martin told Politico, “that the Democratic Party is back.”
