GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — There is a brand new radio station in town Monday after 98.7 WFGR officially flipped its format and rebranded to Sports Radio 98.7.

The launch of the new format brings syndicated content from 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit to West Michigan through the 97.1 Detroit Sports Radio Network.

WFGR owners Townsquare Media said they are excited to bring the new sports content to West Michigan.

“Townsquare Media is excited to bring such high-caliber, Michigan-focused sports programming to West Michigan,” said Erik Hellum, Chief Operating Officer of Townsquare Media. “This is a big win for listeners who want strong, local sports conversation without having to rely on national networks.”
