Amarillo police arrested an 18-year-old suspect less than 24 hours after a residence in the 4300 block of Bowie was struck by nearly 50 gunshots early Sunday morning.
At about 2 a.m. on Nov. 30, officers were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire. A vehicle reportedly drove through the alley and opened fire on a home occupied by five adults and three children before continuing north toward I-27, police said. No injuries were reported.
Investigators from the Amarillo Police Department’s Investigations Unit, Digital Forensics Unit, Crime Scene Unit, ATF and the Amarillo Regional Crime Center — along with community members who submitted surveillance footage — helped identify a suspect, according to police.
Less than a day after the shooting, officers apprehended and arrested
