GRAND ISLAND, Neb (KSNB) — American shoppers are expected to spend more than $1 trillion this holiday season for the first time, according to the National Retail Federation, as consumers navigate higher prices while searching for gifts.
Shoppers in the Tri-Cities said they are adjusting their strategies to manage increased costs while maintaining holiday traditions.
“Prices are higher, our family has agreed to up the price limit this year on gifts,” said Madeleine Stachura, a shopper.
According to Bank of America, 58 percent of consumers say they feel prices are higher this year than in previous holiday seasons.
