Vikings cut ties with Adam Thielen, whose retirement plans are revealed

Adam Thielen is a Minnesota kid through and through.

From a childhood in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to a college career at Minnesota State, to an unlikely starring tenure as an undrafted player from the Minnesota Vikings : Minnesota is home for Thielen.

But for at least a little while, he's looking for a new, temporary home.

The Vikings announced Monday that they have released Thielen. He was just a healthy scratch on Sunday, and Thielen is seeking a slightly bigger role for a potential playoff team down the stretch.
