If you think it feels warmer than usual in December, you're right — El Paso has yet to hit the freezing mark.

The first freeze is typically in mid-November, yet weeks later, Sun City still hasn't dropped to 32 degrees or below, and weather models predict the city will continue to see above-normal conditions, said Bladen Breitreiter, senior forecaster with the National Weather Service.

"It's not looking great for the prospect of us getting below freezing for the El Paso metro," Breitreiter said. "As we're looking closer at the end of this week and next week, we're near normal, or we could even bump up above normal."
