On a night so cold it would’ve made the late Doug Eads grumble loud enough to echo across the county, Pulaski welcomed the Atherton Ravens for a Class 5A semifinal showdown. By the end of the night, you had to imagine Doug screaming with joy from above, as his Maroons completely shut down the Ravens’ offense in a 17-0 victory to punch their ticket to next Saturday’s state championship game.
Atherton may have gotten the ball first, but it was the Maroons that made the first statement of the contest. After Winston Ford came close to intercepting a pass, the Ravens had to punt the ball away after some enormous pressure by the Pulaski defense.
