The Steelers have reached the point of the season that recent history would suggest is not their favorite time of year.

And that is not an encouraging sign for a team that has lost five of its past seven games.

December has not been kind to the Steelers since 2019. The month in which Mike Tomlin once famously said his team “would unleash hell” has been nothing but a hellish time of year for the Steelers.

The Steelers have had three-game losing streaks in December in four of the previous six seasons, most recently last year, when they ended the regular season with four consecutive losses.

And, after what was on display on Sunday in a 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the chances of a recurrence are not that far-fetched.
