The Law Society of Ontario is seeking to temporarily suspend the license of the self-proclaimed “cocaine lawyer” who is accused of advising fugitive Ryan Wedding to murder a U.S. federal witness.
According to a notice of application , a Law Society tribunal on Friday will determine whether the license of lawyer Deepak Paradkar should be suspended in the wake of “serious criminal charges” detailed in a sprawling indictment unsealed by U.S. authorities last month.
Paradkar is a well-known Ontario defence lawyer who has been practising since 1993. He was among eight Canadians who were arrested in mid-November and now face extradition to the U.S. for allegedly helping Wedding run a billion-dollar-a-year criminal enterprise that authorities say routinely smuggled cocaine into Canada a
