The Rev. Dick Ogle’s gift of land to Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City earlier this year has resulted in $1.2 million going to the school affiliated with the Church of God. Ogle said he gave the land to the college in September and it recently sold for that amount.
Ogle, a retired Church of God pastor from Hoisington, said he started buying land in the 1980s. He expected the land donated to the college would sell for $1 million and was pleased to see the final price, which was the full amount of the appraised value. The university named a women’s dormitory after Ogle following the gift.
