Director Nia DaCoasta, fresh from receiving accolades from The Gotham Awards for her 1950s-updated, Black-woman coded version of Hedda, has dropped another film trailer. She’s directing 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the second film in the 28 Years Later trilogy, which will be released in January 2026.

The film stars Ralph Fiennes as Dr. Ian Kelson, an infected slayer who believes he’s found a cure for the virus. In an interview with Total Film, DaCosta gushed that she’s a huge fan of the original film, 28 Days Later, and felt very protective of its legacy. She’s also stated that she’s made this second piece in her own style, which includes adding more of The Infected. Seems like she likes a challenge!
