Peyton Falzone ’s recruiting journey has hit late turbulence.
The Nazareth Area High School senior quarterback has decommitted from Auburn University, according to a report from national recruiting writer Hayes Fawcett that Falzone shared . The Southeastern Conference program fired head coach Hugh Freeze on Nov. 2.
Sunday, Auburn revealed the hiring of South Florida head coach Alex Golesh to replace Freeze.
Nazareth announced last week that it will host a signing ceremony for Falzone 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, which is the first day of Division I football’s early signing period.
Falzone, a four-star prospect according to major recruiting services, only played in three and a half games this season due to a broken clavicle. During that time, however, he threw for 1,176 yards and 11 touchdow
