BELTON, Texas — Drivers in Belton may see "smoother traffic flow" this December thanks to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), according to the City of Belton.
The City has announced that TxDOT is optimizing traffic signals and updating signal timing at eight intersections in Belton, from Central Avenue to Lake Road, in order to "better match current traffic patterns."
The timing changes will reportedly be done remotely and are meant to reduce delays on Main Street during peak travel times by adjusting signal cycle lengths and coordination.
While the changes are meant to improve overall traffic flow, the city said drivers on side streets may experience slightly longer wait times during busy hours.
