Katie Fulton has loved reading for as long as she can remember.

Originally from central New Jersey and now living in Media, Penn., the 37-year-old recalls struggling to learn to read in first grade and attending Reading Recovery. After that, there was no stopping her.

“Even as a kid, I felt like reading gave me this little world of my own, a place to escape, learn and dream,” Fulton, who now reads over 200 books a year, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
