Michigan State men’s basketball is bringing back an iconic look.
The Spartans are introducing throwback jerseys ahead of their Big Ten opener against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday and a marquee matchup against the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.
The jerseys are a revival of their combination from the 2000s, the first uniforms the team wore from Nike, which debuted 25 years ago.
A hype video on social media confirmed the Spartans will wear the throwbacks against Iowa, but it’s not certain if they’ll also be worn for a top-10 matchup with Duke later in the week.
Introduced the season after Michigan State’s national championship in 2000, the uniforms were a staple from 2000-2006, being worn by the stars of past MSU teams like Jason Richardson, Shannon Brown, Maurice Ager, Drew Neitzel
