SALT LAKE CITY — An initiative to repeal Proposition 4 and return the power of drawing congressional district lines to the Utah Legislature is facing growing scrutiny. Critics, including Democratic leaders, claim that paid signature gatherers could be misleading voters about the petition’s purpose.

KSL reporter Mike Anderson talked with some signature gatherers, spotted outside the DMV building in Taylorsville. While some gatherers appear knowledgeable about Proposition 4 and the proposed changes, concerns are mounting over transparency and funding.

“Sign the petition. Get the redistricting act back on the ballot,” one man asked Anderson.
