Two men are in a Rawlins jail on claims they kidnapped and were being paid to transport a 16-year-old girl, whom Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers found by scouring the state’s roadways, the agency says.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported Monday evening that a Wisconsin teen “is safe” after troopers tracked down her alleged kidnappers Saturday.

Troopers responded Saturday to a be-on-the-lookout alert for a missing female minor.

WHP spokesman Aaron Brown confirmed Tuesday to Cowboy State Daily the girl was 16.

The two men arrested were Alexcer Solis-Gomez and Pedro Perez, said Brown. The Carbon County Detention Center confirmed they remain in custody there as of Tuesday evening.
