OVERLAND PARK, Kan. —

A 54-year-old man from Overland Park died Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on K-177 in Riley County, Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. when a northbound Ford Super Duty rear-ended a Hyundai Accent. Advertisement

Troopers said the Hyundai went into a ditch, and the driver, James Echols, died at the scene.

A passenger of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 17-year-old Manhattan driver of the Ford was not hurt.
