TEXAS, USA — A group of Texas families have filed a new lawsuit, which names some North Texas school districts, in an effort to block school districts from displaying the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms.
The new federal lawsuit, filed Tuesday, comes after a new state law, Senate Bill 10, which was passed earlier this year and requires public schools to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms, has stirred controversy and faced legal challenges.
In August, a federal judge blocked the display of the Ten Commandments in classrooms in at least nine school districts and in November, a federal judge blocked the display of the Ten Commandments in classrooms in another 15 school districts .
