BOISE, Idaho — WHAT/WHEN: A plume of Pacific moisture will trigger widespread precipitation starting midday Thursday and lingering into Saturday . Precipitation will start off as showers Thursday, and will develop into heavier and more steady rain and snowfall midday Friday, tapering to showers by Friday night.

Snow will likely start falling in the Blue Mountains of Oregon and the West Central Mountains of Idaho by noon or so Thursday, with a couple inches of accumulation possible before the wet weather arrives in SW and central Idaho around 4pm. Snow levels will vary widely during this event, but will eventually settle around 5,000'-7,000' by Friday night. Generally, 2-5" of snow are expected to pile up around 5,000', with 6-12" possible above 6,000'.
