NEW YORK CITY -- A special screening was held Tuesday night for a legendary directors latest film, "Ella McCay."
James L. Brooks, known for movies like "Broadcast News" and "Terms of Endearment," walked the red carpet for his first movie in 15 years.
"Ella McCay" tells the story of a young woman who unexpectedly becomes governor as she juggles life in the political spotlight and her complicated family dynamic.
Emma Mackey plays Ella. The movie also stars Rebecca Hall, Albert Brooks, Woody Harrelson, Ayo Edebiri and Jamie Lee Curtis.
"Ella McCay" will hit theaters next Friday.
