TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A house fire broke out in a duplex on the 1500 block of West Roger Road at 6:14 p.m., prompting a swift response from Tucson Fire.

Rescue 8 arrived within four minutes to find a large, single-story building ablaze, with explosions occurring in the yard.

The team took a defensive approach, battling the fire from the outside while evacuating neighboring units. Once the flames were subdued, crews moved inside to extinguish any remaining hotspots.

Most of the smoke was traced to lithium-ion batteries for solar backup on the back porch, officials reported.

The fire was brought under control by 6:38 p.m. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although one resident has been displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
