ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Visiting Martins Ferry held St. Clairsville scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 53-13 girls’ basketball victory Tuesday night on John Jenkins Court inside St. Clairsville High School.
The Purple Riders (1-1) ran out to a 22-0 lead and never looked back.
Giana Chirpas and Alivia Reese each netted 12 points for Martins Ferry. Maddie Lucas added seven and London Hoder had six, as did Cadence Oberle.
Cora Rainey led the Red Devils (1-3) with six points.
Martins Ferry visits Union Local Thursday in a key Buckeye 8 contest.
