Holiday shipping deadlines are approaching faster than you may think as some packages will need to be sent as early as Dec. 15.

You may have to pay more, too, as the USPS announced it's charging more for Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage and Parcel Select during the 2025 peak holiday season.

What is the USPS deadline for delivery by Christmas?

The USPS released the following recommended mailing and shipping dates for expected delivery before Dec. 25:

USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 17 in the contiguous U.S. and Dec. 16 in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories

First-Class Mail: Dec. 17

Priority Mail: Dec. 18

Priority Mail Express: Dec. 20
