Mathematics continues to be an issue for local students and school boards.
The Education Quality and Accountability Office released the results from its annual testing Wednesday.
Province-wide tests are administered in reading, writing, and math for grades 3 and 6, math in grade 9,
along with the Ontario Secondary School Literacy test.
Students in the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic
District School Board saw most of their students performing at or above provincial standards in reading and writing
but not in math.
For example just 39% of students at the grade 6 level in the HPEDSB tested at or above the provincial standards.
In the ALCDSB only 38% did.
Detailed results from across the province and locally can be found here.
