MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — Officials have provided more information after a tanker truck overturned on I-271 in Medina County early Wednesday morning, closing the interstate in both directions from I-71 to I-77 in Summit County for several hours.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened after the driver of the truck fell asleep at the wheel.

Although I-271 has reopened both northbound and southbound, officials emphasize that some lane restrictions may be in place while the clean up continues.
