The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:23 a.m. on Wednesday for black ice until 7:30 a.m. for Franklin, Worcester, Middlesex, Essex, Hampshire, Hampden, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties.
"Patchy black ice is possible this morning, as temperatures have fallen below freezing. Surfaces that are wet due to overnight wintry precipitation are freezing over as a result. Conditions will improve later this morning as temperatures rise above freezing. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution. Reduce speed, allow extra time, and be prepared for areas of slippery travel," says the weather service.
