Campaigners for the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) group have claimed a deal has been reached with the government to reconsider whether to award them compensation. A campaign was launched by WASPI after a ruling in 2019 led to 3.8 million women born in the 1950s having their state pension age increased from 60 to 66.
A special hearing had been due to take place regarding WASPI concerns , which would decide whether a judicial review trial slated for December 9 and 10 should proceed. However, the group have claimed these court dates have now been cancelled after an agreement was reached.
The group said ministers have committed to make “best endeavours” to reconsider potential compens
