It's definitely feeling like winter here in Lafayette and across much of our region as we kick off December. We've certainly seen widespread snow and cold temperatures arriving with full force this week.

Our main focus for the short term is the potential for some hazardous conditions tonight. We are monitoring areas of freezing fog, and it could become quite dense in spots overnight. This is due to an arctic airmass setting up, combined with moisture and clouds sticking around. As winds become southerly, there's a chance for freezing fog to develop, especially in the Wabash River Valley and low-lying areas. We're concerned that if this fog lingers through the night, we could see a light glazing of ice develop on surfaces where temperatures are below freezing.
