RED CLOUD, Neb. (KSNB) - Two Red Cloud Community Schools’ board members submitted their resignations Monday night after a contentious 5-1 vote to pay Superintendent Brian Hof $136,000 to leave the district.
Eric Brown and Jeff Ord both tendered their resignations at the end of the heated meeting, leaving the board with just enough members for a quorum and raising questions about its ability to function effectively.
Brown, who cast the lone dissenting vote against the separation agreement, made his frustration clear before walking out.
“I’m not overly thrilled on how this meeting went tonight with paying out,” Brown said as he submitted his resignation. “So, here you go. Thanks for the time. It’s been real. So, good luck. But... I just think we could have saved that money.”
