CAMDEN, N.J. – A longtime physical education teacher’s lawsuit accusing the Washington Township Public Schools of age discrimination will move forward after a federal judge refused to dismiss the case.
U.S. District Judge Karen M. Williams ruled that sufficient evidence exists for a jury to decide whether the district unlawfully passed over teacher Guy Campagna, who has worked in the district since 2006.
The district had sought summary judgment, arguing there was no proof that age played a role in its hiring decision.
