Signs for a former Glasgow favourite known for its epic Italian cuisine have gone up in the southside, marking an emotional return.

The owners behind the much-loved restaurant Sapori d'Italia recently confirmed to us that they were set to take over the now vacant Hoagies spot in Mount Florida.

Since then, the team has clearly been making good progress, with the signage now returned to the spot where it all began for the family over a decade ago on the corner of Cathcart Road and Bolton Drive.

Husband and wife team Bruno and Simona Imbriglia and kids Francesco and Melissa are excited to be returning to the community they left after they closed the doors on their second site on Cathcart Road – now Bucks – back in 2021.
