In 2024, Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Tex., was indicted by the Department of Justice on conspiracy and bribery charges in connection with an investigation between U.S. businesses and Azerbaijan. Prosecutors previously alleged Cuellar and his wife, Imelda, accepted nearly $600,000 in bribes from an energy company controlled by Azerbaijan and a bank in Mexico. President Donald Trump pardoned them on Wednesday.
