Bolivia has scrapped visa requirements for U.S. citizens and several other nationalities, marking a wider geopolitical and economic shift. From December 1, 2025, Americans can now enter the South American country visa-free with just a valid passport for stays of up to 90 days.

America is the fourth-largest source of tourists for the country, after Argentina, Peru, and Brazil. With this in mind, the new Bolivian administration has moved to improve relations with Washington and pursue a strategic partnership aimed at boosting economic growth through increased tourism.
