MANITOWOC, Wis. (WKOW) — The boyfriend of Elijah Vue's mother claims he's being mistreated and discriminated against by the staff at the Manitowoc County Jail.

Jesse Vang, 41, has been held at the Manitowoc County Jail since February 2024, when Elijah was reported missing. In a lawsuit filed in November with the United States District Court Eastern District of Wisconsin, Vang said the staff has been discriminating against him since September 2024.

Vang is charged in connection with the disappearance and death of 3-year-old Elijah. Vang is charged with repeated physical abuse of a child - repeated acts causing death, hiding a corpse, resisting an officer and chronic neglect of a child, all with a repeater modifier. Elijah's mother, Katrina Baur , is also charged in his death.
