A man was shot and killed during a midday attack inside the packed food court at MGM National Harbor on Wednesday, sending shoppers running as the gunman got away, according to Prince George’s County Police.
Officers said they were called to the resort in Oxon Hill on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at about 11:55 a.m., after getting reports of gunfire in the food court.
Police said one man died on the scene. A second man had what officers described as a graze wound.
Detectives said they are working to figure out what led to the shooting and who pulled the trigger. PGPD said the shooter ran from the area before officers arrived.
Police said early information shows the attack “does not appear to be a random shooting.”
Officers asked media to gather in Parking Lot B, according to PGPD. Detectives said more details will be released once they are confirmed.
The investigation is active.
