It's December, meaning we are deep into holiday season. With Christmas right around the corner, it's time to hold one of the most festive events of the year: The lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The lighting extravaganza takes place Wednesday night, with the event hosted by country music icon Reba McEntire.
McEntire, who stars on Happy's Place and is a judge on The Voice, will also be performing. Other performers include The Rockettes, Marc Anthony, Halle Bailey, Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Laufey, New Edition, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce and Gwen Stefani. In addition to McEntire, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Craig Melvin from NBC's TODAY Show will make appearances throughout the broadcast.
This year's tree is estimated to be 75 years old, and it was brought into New York City from East Greenbush, New York.
