A 72-year-old man was struck and killed Tuesday morning in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood after a motorist backing up a vehicle hit him, police said.
The collision was reported at 10:46 a.m. at Mason Street and Broadway, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Investigators said the driver was traveling north on Mason Street and had just made a right turn onto Broadway. The driver reversed and hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street.
The victim died from his injuries and his name was not immediately available Wednesday morning.
Police did not arrest the driver and have not released any other details about the collision.
